The Medical Equipment Loan Closet provides medical equipment at no charge. Our inventory of gently used medical equipment generally includes hospital beds, bedside commodes, walkers, canes, wheelchairs, Hoyer lifts, bath benches, and so much more. If we have it in stock, you can have it in your home. We loan approximately 1,000 pieces of medical equipment annually saving Bay County residents over $200,000 in rental fees. Items are on a first come first served basis. All of our equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. You can have the equipment as long as you need it. When you are done, we ask that you return it to our agency.
To request a piece of equipment, you must have a prescription from your doctor or your doctor can fax the prescription to our office. Once you/we have the prescription, you simply come to DSRC, call us upon arrival, and let us know what you’re here to pick up. It’s best to call us before coming to be sure we have what you need in stock as all our equipment is gently used and donated in for distribution back to Bay County residents as needed. Upon arrival, you will need to fill out a form to borrow the equipment. If we have the equipment in our inventory, you can pick it up Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Do you have a wheelchair, other piece of medical equipment sitting around, or unopened personal care/incontinence supplies? We will take your donated item and put it to good use. Clean, usable equipment in good condition is always appreciated and may be donated Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please do not leave items outside our building over the weekend or during inclement weather.
